Hold Me Tight

There are times when, even though you love each other, you feel that something between you has changed: you’re often tired, irritable, more distant, and you’re not quite sure how to really talk to each other; you end up misunderstanding one another, shutting each other out or arguing in the same way over and over again.

Hold Me Tight is an invitation to set aside some time dedicated to your relationship, to listen to each other again and build a closeness that nourishes you both. In this workshop, we’ll work together to make sense of what’s happening between you and open up new avenues of connection and intimacy.

Through a guided process inspired by Sue Johnson’s EFT model, you’ll be guided through seven conversations that help you recognise cycles of disconnection, give voice to your deepest emotions, and rediscover a more secure and authentic connection.

What you’ll experience

We’ll help you better recognise your need for closeness and security, making space for the emotions that often lie hidden behind arguments. We’ll work on what drives you apart, learning to stop things from escalating and to reconnect in a way that feels more accessible to each other. We’ll approach the wounds in your relationship with care, opening up conversations that can restore connection, intimacy, trust and the sense of being on the same side again.

At the heart of this journey is experiencing a different way of relating to one another: one that is more mindful, more sincere, and better able to make you both feel seen and accepted.

What this workshop can offer you

This workshop can help you to:

• gain a clearer understanding of what is happening between you, especially at times when you feel distant or stuck, and recognise your recurring patterns, gradually beginning to transform them;

• create moments of dialogue and sharing that strengthen the sense of security within your relationship;

• address some of the painful aspects of your bond with greater sensitivity, opening yourselves up to new and healing conversations.

• Rekindle the spark that brought you together and find practical ways to renew your relationship, nurturing it over time with love, joy and closeness.

Couples often discover that behind arguments that seem very different lies a shared need: to feel important to one another, to be able to rely on each other, and to rediscover a sense of reassurance. This realisation often brings relief, understanding and a fresh perspective on one another.

How it is structured

The workshop alternates between sessions providing a theoretical framework and guidance, and moments where you will work just the two of you as a couple. The group supports the process with a discreet presence, and many people find particular relief in recognising that certain challenges in a relationship are part of the human experience of being in a partnership. Feeling less alone can create space for hope, dignity and trust in the journey ahead.

Who is it for

Hold Me Tight can be a meaningful experience for couples who wish to invest in their relationship: couples who feel they have drifted apart a little, who find themselves caught up in the same conflicts, or who simply wish to get to know each other more deeply and renew their bond. The nature of your relationship, its history or the stage of life you are at are not the main focus; what matters is the desire to understand each other better and grow together. If you feel this desire, set aside some dedicated time to give to yourselves as a gift.

When it might not be the right time

There are times when your relationship first needs a more dedicated and personalised therapeutic space. If you are going through a very acute crisis, if you are considering a separation, or if the level of distress and disconnection is very high, it may be important to speak to me individually first to understand which approach is best suited to you at this time.

This does not mean that the workshop has no value, but that every couple has different timings and needs, and sometimes the most appropriate choice is to start in a different setting.

Workshops will be offered periodically throughout the year. If you would like to receive information on upcoming dates, you can leave your contact details or write to me directly.
